Binance warns clients of a massive phishing scam

Binance cryptocurrency exchange clients started to receive SMS on withdrawal transactions. Users who follow the link get to a fake page of the exchange.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao reported this on his Twitter. According to his words, the number of attacks on users is increasing. Most often, it is associated with phishing activities, when people are somehow invited to follow a link to an exact copy of the cryptocurrency exchange and log in. In this way, attackers get data about the user's login and password. They may even try to withdraw funds from the user's wallet in some cases.

Changpeng Zhao warned against clicking on links in SMS and advised to always pay close attention to the URL of the site you are visiting.

There are no details reported about the affected users.

To recall, in early January, Binance signaled suspicious activity and froze it. It was immediately followed by phishing attacks via SMS.
