User spending in metaverses will reach $5 trillion by 2030

Analysts estimate that virtual reality e-commerce will represent $2-2.6 trillion.

As reported in a new report of the consulting firm McKinsey & Co., the surveyors interviewed 3.1 thousand people from 11 countries and managers of more than 400 companies in 15 industries. The report considered such virtual activities as gaming, social networking, entertainment, shopping, and remote learning.

Analysts predict that e-commerce will account for $2-2.6 trillion in metaverses, with $144-206 billion being spent on virtual advertising.

79% of respondents said they have already made purchases in metaverses, including 47% who have shopped in games. According to a McKinsey study, 95% of company managers surveyed believe that the development of meta-universes will positively impact their business in the coming years.
