More than $4.5 billion invested in Game-Fi in 2021

In 2021, the Game-Fi industry was one of the fastest-growing. The total investment volume has overtaken even the NFT asset market, which has repeatedly made headlines in the global media over the past 12 months.
According to DappRadar, along with the investment growth in this sector, user engagement has also increased, 49% or 1.4 million unique active digital wallets have interacted with decentralized gaming apps. P2E games also showed good growth, pushing the number of players in Axie Infinity from 20,000 to 2 million. Meanwhile, GALA and AXS gaming tokens have shown 31,500% and 20,800% growth in value since the beginning of the year.
Some experts believe that the increased attention of large companies to NFT and P2E strategy games could further increase the overall capitalization of this blockchain industry sector. However, some countries have launched an active fight against the development of this entertainment branch. For example, the South Korean government started struggling against P2E games by demanding that Google and Apple remove such apps from their stores. Meanwhile, the Chinese government imposed a regulation that prohibits children from playing video games for too long. Recall that these two countries have a huge concentration of gamers, and such bans may affect further Game-Fi development.
