SEC inspects crypto exchanges for insider trading

The securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) initiated an investigation concerning insider trading on cryptocurrency exchanges.

According to FOX Business, a source aware of SEC activities said that the regulator has requested information from one of the major platforms about steps to combat such practices. In the interlocutor's opinion, other stock exchanges received a similar notice.

The publication claims that the SEC launched an investigation following the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. In early June, the media reported on the investigation launched by the Seoul prosecutor's office and the SEC regarding the TerraUSD (UST) algorithmic stablecoin.

Recall that in the spring, The Wall Street Journal reported on a group of investors who made significant profits thanks to insider information about upcoming listings on Binance, Coinbase, and FTX.
