The world's largest movie theater chain starts selling movie tickets in cryptocurrencies

The world's largest movie theater chain AMC Entertainment (known under the brand AMC Theatres) started accepting payments in cryptocurrencies. As well as buying tickets, now you can also make concession payments and pay for extra services in cryptocurrencies.

Back in August, Adam Aron, the company's CEO, declared his desire to use cryptocurrencies for online ticket sales. The chain's management tried to go beyond just accepting bitcoin, providing users with a wider choice of cryptocurrencies. So now, in addition to BTC, Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Litecoin (LTC) are also accepted for payment.

On November 12, 2021, Adam Aron tweeted that the AMC chain also accepts payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal alongside the cryptocurrencies mentioned above. He also told his followers that the share of new tools among all online transactions reached 14%. The next in line is Dogecoin.

To buy tickets using cryptocurrencies on the AMC website, you need to select PayPal as a payment method. Next, the payment script will ask you to log in to your PayPal account and choose one of the cryptocurrencies for payment.
